Where has the time gone???

Wow!
It's been a month since I've updated this blog! I just can't believe it. I guess time goes just waaaay too fast now. With spring finally here I've been so busy, I've kind of put a few things on the back burner. I'm trying to get myself a little better organized LOL

I'm going to try to get this little blog back up and running ASAP :-)

Til next time,

SNOW!!

Well, it certainly snowed! It was so pretty, and it was just enough to be nice without paralyzing everything! It doesn't take much down south to bring things to a complete halt! It started snowing around 4 pm and continued off and on all night. By noon Saturday morning the snow was gone. Also during the storm, we lost our internet. We have satellite, so at first I thought it was just because of the snow. Nope--not my luck. Our transmiter went out, and we finally got back up and running earlier today. So......I will just skip this week's Monday Mississippi Etsian and restart again this coming Monday.
Spring break was this week, and the weather has been just beautiful. Nice and warm, in the sixties and seventies! Of course that means when a cold front does move through, the weather can get bad--sometimes VERY bad. Our weather later in the day could be severe, so send good wishes our way that it doesn't get too bad.
That's all for now--I'll get back on track shortly :-)
I hope you enjoy the following photos taken of the snow.

Southern Snow and New Scents!

Well we certainly are having some weird weather! It was 68 degrees today, and tomorrow we are supposed to get snow! That's crazy--but that's the weather here this time of the year! I just took the dogs out for their last business trip of the night, and the wind is really blowing out of the south. You can feel and smell the moisture in the air, and the temperature is beginning to drop. I certainly hope we don't get snowed in--it doesn't take much snow here to paralyze things!

I listed some new scented tarts on Etsy today--Mulled Cider, Country Apple, and Baby Powder.
They all smell just wonderful! The Country Apple is a Bath & Body Works duplicate, and it is really clean and nice smelling. I'll probably make some soap with it soon :-)
If you haven't tried soy wax tarts, you really should! Soy wax is much easier to clean up, and its eco-friendly and good for our American farmers. I will have an article on soy wax coming up soon--just keep checking back!

We got a new birdfeeder for the back deck. I've taken a little video of it. It's not very good, but at least you can see our little birds. I'm going to keep taking videos of them throughout the year so we can enjoy them together :-)

That's all for now. I hope everyone stays warm and safe with all the snowy, rainy weather that is going on now in parts of the country. Stay indoors, and try to remember that spring is on the way!!

Etsy from Mississippi!

I sell on Etsy (obviously) and thought it would be nice to feature some favorite sellers. I decided to start with sellers from Mississippi, simply because there are so few of us! Look for my first featured Mississippi Etsian coming up very, very soon!

Morning Visitor

I took a picture of this little bird on the feeder on our back deck. It's not too good--it was taken through the patio door glass. I'm not sure what kind of bird it is, but is is so pretty. There were 12 at one point--this one is the only one that didn't fly away when I came to the door. I love to just watch the birds out the back. It's very calming and relaxing.

Added a bit....

I just decided to add a bit too my blog before I went to bed. As you can see, I have 2 children in the military--Ryan, US Navy, and Christina, US MarineCorps. I fully support our young men and women in their valiant efforts to keep us free and safe. We owe our freedom to these brave young people who do not hesitate to give up their lives for ours. How anyone could not support and appreciate them is beyond my comprehension. This is a time for ALL of us to come together in the effort to keep our country safe. I suppose if a Democrat, heaven forbid, were to be elected we could use their "free universal healthcare" to take care of all the wounded civilians that this country will have when we are attacked again and again because they don't have the guts to stand up to terrorists and take care of their citizens. I firmly believe it will happen if we don't get another Republican administration.

Oh, well, enough about politics.

Who knows what I may put here next?

So...here I am :-)

I finally decided to start a blog.
Why? I don't really know. I suppose everyone needs their version of a diary at some point in their life. I guess this will be my diary.

I'm normally a shy, quiet person, keeping my random thoughts to myself. Maybe this will help me to open up to more people--who knows??

I'm a stay home mom of 5--only one child is still at home. I enjoy making candles, tarts, and soaps and have been now off and on since I was a teenager. That's a looooong time! I've been selling online now for over two years. It's been a fun way to keep up with my hobby that I enjoy, but I decided several months ago that it is going to be my business. Darn it, I will make a good business out of something I enjoy! Heck, if Paula Deen can do it, so can I! She is sort of an inspiration for me, since she was just about my age when she started out, and look at her now. Just proves that you CAN achieve at any age and in any situation if you put your mind to it. Even a l'il southern gal.

So......here I am :-)
